Biography

Joe Tripician is an EMMY-award winning Producer/Writer/Director, a Playwright, and a published author with over thirty years experience in film, TV, and digital media production. In his varied career Joe has worked with such talents as: Jim Henson, Lou Reed, Jeff Buckley, Steve Buscemi, Jim Carroll, Quentin Crisp, Lydia Lunch, TONY award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, as well as legendary filmmaker D. A. Pennebaker on the Oscar-nominated film "The War Room." In 1992, Joe was awarded an EMMY for Best Documentary of Cultural Significance for the PBS documentary "Metaphoria." Joe has an MFA from Columbia University. In 1994, Joe was nominated for the Rockefeller Foundation Intercultural Film/Video Fellowship in Media Arts. In May of 2002, Joe performed his one-man play "Balkanized at Sunrise" at Dixon Place Theater in NYC. The play was based on his 1997 trip to the Balkans when the Croatian government hired him to write an official biography of their president. That book was summarily banned. Joe subsequently published his story in a memoir available on Amazon. Joe lives in Brazil with his wife and two daughters.
