Joanne worked as a professional "cowboy" for over 15 years at various ranches throughout Alberta. Starting colts and calving cows were just some of her job requirements.
Once took a new born calf through a Tim Hortons drive thru so he could warm up from the heater in the truck. The calf had been born in a snow bank during a storm. When she pulled up to the window, the calf was trying to get up on the seat with her, and the employee turned around to see a lady trying to push a bawling calf off the seat with her foot.
