Appeared with her then-husband Broderick Crawford in such stage productions as "Born Yesterday" and "Dead Pigeon". Their marriage was a turbulent one. In December 1965 Tabor sued Crawford for divorce. She testified that her husband was verbally and physically abusive. She was finally divorced as of April 1967. Joan Tabor (Marilyn J. Gold) died on December 18th, 1968 from an accidental overdose of influenza medicine. She was 36 years old.

Worked as a sexy foil for such film and TV comedians as Jerry Lewis , Jack Benny and Bob Hope.

Appeared on the cover of Escapade.

Gave birth to her only child at age 21, a daughter Lauren F. Gold on May 1, 1954. Childs father is her now ex-1st husband, David Gold.
