Biography

Jeffrey Hirschberg's greatest accomplishment was winning the Brookside Elementary School Spelling Bee - obliterating his long-time rival, Leonard Presberg. After graduating from Cornell and earning a Master's from Syracuse University's Newhouse School, he foolishly side-stepped his passion for writing and directing by working for ten years in marketing and advertising - culminating in a high-paying, soul-crushing position as Vice President of Creative Services for a major Wall Street conglomerate. Drained from wearing a tie and overusing words like "synergy," he embarked on his Act Two by becoming a film professor and the founding director of the Television and Film Arts program at SUNY Buffalo State. Inspired by his plunge into academia and hoping to impress his parents, Jeffrey wrote a fairly well-reviewed book entitled, "Reflections of the Shadow: Creating Memorable Heroes and Villains for Film and TV" in Upstate New York.
