Jasmine McGlade is a filmmaker and writer who graduated from Harvard where she began her creative collaboration with Oscar winning writer-director Damien Chazelle. She produced Chazelles critically acclaimed directorial debut, feature length jazz musical "Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench," was a key figure in the development and production of Academy Award winning film " Whiplash," and an Executive Producer of "La La Land" starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, which won six Oscars and a record breaking seven Golden Globes. McGlades feature directorial debut, a micro budget independent film called "Maria My Love" which she also wrote and produced, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2011. In 2016 Jasmine was a juror for the Denver Film festival. She has spoken on panels at film festivals and schools around the country, and has guest lectured at Colorado College and the University of Denver. Jasmine serves on The Marthas Vineyard Film Festival Board of Directors alongside renowned Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and award-winning filmmakers Jeffrey Kusama-Hinte and Dawn Porter, among others. Outside of filmmaking Jasmine is known as a national champion fencer and four-time U.S. Cadet/Junior World Team member. She was voted one of Teen Magazines "Athletes of the Year," has trained at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, is an NCAA All-American athlete and has won the Junior Olympics. She has a variety of national and international gold medals under her belt, such as Heidenheim Cadet World Cup and the Div 1A U.S. National Championships. While at Harvard Jasmine helped her team win the Division 1 NCAA Championship title, the first in Harvard fencing history. Shes also earned numerous medals from U.S. National Championships and North American Cups. Jasmine is passionate about social justice, spirituality, music, and the outdoors.
