Biography

Emmy-winning media and nonprofit executive with 16+ years managing diverse international teams across multiple projects; creating innovative and impact-driven media; fostering internal and external collaboration; and acting as brand ambassador for premiere, mission-driven science and natural history organizations. Skilled at high-level strategic planning and supervision, and the hands-on management required to deliver exceptional content and maximize the impact of complex projects. At National Geographic Studios, was responsible for developing, fundraising for and executive producing mission-focused cross-platform initiatives for the National Geographic Society. Spearheaded collaboration between internal groups including television, fundraising, education, magazine, museum exhibits, books and kids. Clients included PBS, NOVA, The National Geographic Channel and WILD. Also ran the Kids production unit, overseeing the development and production of Society-based children's content for the digital platforms. In all roles, supervised multiple internal and external editorial teams; sought out and mentored up-and-coming talent; and focused on creative and innovative storytelling techniques to highlight the unique work of National Geographic's explorers and scientists. Prior to National Geographic Television, was the director of science programs at WNET-developing and executive producing science, technology and history programs and series and the cross-platform marketing and education programs that expanded their reach. Projects included the Emmy award-winning The Mysterious Human Heart; the AAAS Kavli award-winning The Human Spark with Alan Alda; the Emmy award-nominated Curious; Naturally Obsessed-The Making of a Scientist; Secrets of the Dead, Ground War; Warplane and more. Received master's degree in broadcast journalism from New York University, and received bachelor's degree in applied economics and business management from Cornell University.
