Jane Marie Genevieve Wiedlin was born on May 20, 1958 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She was raised in Southern California, where she met 'Belinda Carlisle' .

Before becoming a member of The Go-Gos , Jane went by the name Jane Drano in a punk band in California. Later, while still a member of The Go-Gos, she also was featured with the cult band Sparks. Studied fashion at the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College.

A major proponent of animal rights, Jane was arrested in 1987 while protesting the wearing of fur and spent five days in jail for her actions.

After she left The Go-Gos, Jane scored a solo hit in 1985 with the song "Blue Kiss" and had a Top 10 hit in 1988 with the song "Rush Hour".

Attended William Howard Taft Charter High School in Los Angeles, California from 1972 until 1976.

Took part in reunions with the other four members of The Go-Gos in 1989, 1990, 1994 and 1999. The group released their first studio album since in 17 years in 2001, titled "God Bless the Go-Gos".

She is a member of the fetish community. When she was on a celebrity version of "Jeopardy" (which she won), she wore leather bondage pants. One of the first songs she wrote as a Go-Go was called "Fun with Ropes".

Has occasional panic attacks

During and after her time with The Go-Gos, her pet dog Kitty Igloo took on a cult status of its own becoming an "unofficial" member of the band and actually had his own fans.

Scored her first No. 1 song hit on Billboard magazines Country Singles and Tracks chart with "But for the Grace of God" in February 2001. Recorded by Keith Urban and co-written by Jane, Charlotte Caffey , and Urban.

(August 2003) Currently living in Costa Rica.

(June 2004) Moved from Costa Rica to Chiriqu, Panama.

(January 2010) Currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin.

Is a huge fan of the original "Star Trek" series.

She and The Go-Gos were awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 6552 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.

Her father was of German and Swiss-German descent. Her mother was of Lebanese ancestry.
