James is known for his work on the sketch comedy show Studio C, as an actor, writer, and once director. He was born in Sacramento, CA to Dan and Michelle Perry. He joined the sketch comedy group Divine Comedy while studying Mechanical Engineering at BYU. Members of this group formed the cast and writing team of Studio C on BYUtv.
