American leading man and singer, with Famous Players Lasky and Paramount in the 1920s. Best known for co-starring in the Howard Hughes aviation drama Hells Angels (1930) . Did not survive the advent of sound for long and his career had run its course by 1932. He began to drink heavily and died aged 39 of cirrhosis of the liver.
Hall had a reputation as a drinker and an irresponsible professional.
Leased two vehicles as background to Black Crow Productions, for the production of "Red Rock West". A 1970 Ford 1 Ton Van as well as a 1964 Ford Ranchero that he and his father restored from scratch as his first vehicle. In the film the 1964 Ford Ranchero was to have Wyoming plates. One of the Production crew however forgot to put the prop license plate over the Arizona plate and in the film the 1964 Ford Ranchero bore the real Arizona Plate for the vehicle owned by Hall.
