Jack Cushing

Biography

Jack Cushing was a boxer from the 19th century. He had very little to do with the early cinema; his debut was in a 1894 Edison Kinetoscope film. Called "The Leonard-Cushing Fight" the film displays a six-round boxing match between Cushing and another boxer, Mike Leonard. This short was seemingly his only appearance in film as well as his only contribution to filmmaking of any sort; thus, Cushing's cinematic career remained very brief.
