Inspired by Gene Kelly, Davies - together with Paddy Stone - brought a new athleticism to dance in British musicals and television variety.
He was nominated for a 2002 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Theatre Choreographer of 2001 for The Play What I Wrote performed at the Wyndhams Theatre in London.
