Biography

Iñaki Uranga is the youngest son of the Uranga family, born in Bilbao in 1961. As almost all his siblings, he felt like singing from very young age, but his father didn't want him to work as singer but go to university instead. That's why he used to play the guitar and sing hiding from his father. When he found out he had no choice but letting him start a career as a solo singer. He debuted in 1986 with an album called like him. His firs single released was called "Con todos menos conmigo", where several of his siblings participated in the background vocals. He released two other albums without much success. The producers had tried to sell an image of a Dandy for ladies, and he wasn't very happy with this decision. In 1988 he joined his siblings Izaskun and Roberto as well as Javier Garay and Ana Bejerano in Mocedades after José Ipiña and Carlos Zubiaga's leaving. Once in Mocedades, he participated in the recording of the album "Intimamente" as lead vocalist of songs such as Daniel . In 1993 he left Mocedades at the same time as Ana Bejerano to join his siblings Amaya and Estíbaliz, his brother-in-law Sergio and Carlos Zubiaga in El Consorcio. He has never left the group since. He and her sister Estíbaliz are the lead singers of the group nowadays. He has recorded 7 albums with El Consorcio, the last one, released in 2006, "De ida y vuelta".
