Fair-haired Bavarian leading lady of stage and screen. Discovered for films by the director Karl Ritter in 1935 and popular in commercial films for UFA. Adept at acting in folksy or rustic light comedy or in melodrama. Graduated to character roles in the 1960s, appearing on stage at the Kleine Komdie in Munich and at the Renaissance Theater in Berlin.
The film business was put into the background from the 60s and she acted more often on the stage.
The actress Heli Finkenzeller took acting lessons by Otto Falckenberg and made her stage debut at the Mnchner Kammerspielen.
