She played softball, volleyball, and ran track but she excelled in basketball. In 9th grade she joined the schools theater club and performed in plays. At age 15 she auditioned for a talent show that had a modeling division. She originally aspired to be a model, but in her audition she performed a monologue from "Legally Blonde". After her audition she was approached by a local talent manager who wanted to represent her for acting. In 2005 she moved to California with her management team and fellow actors. She was quickly picked up by an agency in LA and started going on auditions. Soon after moving there, her management team was facing legal trouble and her agency immediately cut ties with all of the talent represented by her management team.
