Biography

Guyviaud Joseph pronounced giv-e-odd is a first generation Haitian-American born and raised in Elizabeth and Linden New Jersey. The middle child among his brothers he attended college at Penn State University and graduated with a Degree in Business/Marketing. During his undergraduate time at Penn State he trained with the theatrical Director the late Dick Caram and studied Suzuki method performance art. As an undergraduate he went on to star in several theatrical productions including the role of Troy in Fences, written by August Wilson. He went on to work at CBS News as a successful Account Executive for several years, and decided to pursue his passion as a actor. Since the change in his career Guyviaud has went on train with notable acting coaches throughout the New York area; he is training with world renowned acting coach Susan Batson who has trained several Academy Award winning actors who praise her method of training. His resurgence into the career of acting began with Guyviaud playing lead roles in a high volume of music videos in his early career as an actor, he went on the perform in various short films and web-series including RedDot, Heroes of Hip-Hop, Money & Violence and Makeup to Breakup which have each been successful with their own cult following. His first role in a major network series came with a co-star in Unforgettable , he then went on to book six television co-star roles, supporting role in 4 features including How to Tell you're a Douchebag which received the Grand Prize Jury award for best screenplay at ABFF and nominated at Sundance FF. Along with a supporting role in the blockbuster feature John Wick 2 he booked 6 commercials within the year and 6 month time frame. Between filming Guyviaud began to take on roles in production and has worn several hats behind the camera, he has been the Assistant Director for many productions; short films, commercials and music videos. With his most recent success P.O.V: Perception of Violence Guyviaud Executive-Produced and played a lead role; the film has screened at Cannes Film Festival with the Creative Minds Group program and the Official Selection at Martha's Vineyard AAFF and Newark IFF. Guyviaud is most known for his recent role as Biscuit on Season 4 of Power, he has several other projects in the works including the series Sole Kings based in Brooklyn, NY. He plays the role of Larceny an ex-convict who is a long time friend of the protagonist, but their time in different worlds may have cause them to grow apart with different paradigms. It is interesting to see how things unfold among st the protagonist establishment and its patrons, employees and visitors. Guyviaud plans to create a production company along with an educational institution.
