After performing 31 years at the famous Vienna Burgtheater, where she also made her stage debut in 1934, she became its Honorary Member in 1987.
When she was 13 months old, her mother died, so she was raised by her grandmother and the family of Austrian painter Felix Harta.
Lived together with scenic designer Teo Otto for 13 years until his death in 1968.
Receipient of Viennas Nestroy Ring and the Nestroy Lifetime Achievement Award for theater actors.
