Biography

Glen Murphy was born in West Ham, London, he boxed for the famous West Ham and Repton boxing clubs, then started his acting career at the Half Moon Theater in 1980. It was 2 years of more London Theater,before he got his break on film with Blake Edwards' Victor/Victoria. Glen was a London Champion in Boxing & Football & is a 3rd Dan karate black belt and still trains in the kyokushin style martial art today with the 7th Dan Hall of Fame,Jamie O Keefe. In 1955 his father Terence was the first ever sportsman on Itv, His latest Film Lost in Italy has won the New York Hells Kitchen Film Festivals World Cinema Best Film award.and he won the Abruzzo film festival "best actor" award in Italy. And is in pre- production with the feature film "Finger of Suspicion" due to shoot in 2017.

He was awarded the M.B.E. (Member of the most excellent Order of the British Empire) in the 2007 Queen Elizabeth Birthday Honours List for his services to Charity & Drama.

He was in the National Theatres award-winning (Olivier Awards & Evening Standard Theatre Awards) production of Patrick Marbers "Dealers Choice".

Glen is a karate black belt - he gained his Sandan (3rd Dan) in 2016, after training for 33 years, and still trains in the kyokushin style today.

He owns Omerta Films, a production company set up to produce feature films with crime thriller themes, with his co-producer Steve Darts. The first film of a slate of five has just won the New York Hells Kitchen Film Festival, "world cinema best film", and their new production, the thriller Finger Of Suspicion has started pre-production and is due to shoot in 2016.

Awarded the Freedom of the city of London in 1994.

Has played Guitar ever since he was asked to play Bass Guitar in a school band when he was age 13. Not down to talent but because his dad had a "practice room" over his Pub.

Won "Best Actor" at the Abbruzzo Film Festival for Lords of London.

Father of Glastra , Glen Murphy Jnr , Natalia Murphy and Emilio Murphy , and grandfather of Glen juniors son Cassius Terence Murphy.

Older brother of twins Vanessa ONeil-Murphy and Darren Murphy and uncle of Darrens sons Ethan Murphy , Mason Murphy, and Ellis Murphy.
