Biography

George Katt, a versatile and award-winning actor, was born and raised in New York City. He began his training and career on the New York City stages and in theater. His dedication to his craft and his ability to transform into a diversity of characters have earned him much success in film with award-winning accolades and recognition in popular film festival circuits; Playing a variety of leading man and character roles. In 2008 he earned a Best Breakthrough Actor Award for his starring performance opposite Danny Trejo in the independent feature film Valley of Angels; showcasing his range and talents as a young Zachary Andrews , environmental awareness programs and non-profit cancer research and support charities and programs. After recently losing his own father to a battle with cancer, George Katt dedicates his work and way of life to honor his father's ways, art, spirit and memory. George is also the Founder and Artistic Director of "The Indies Lab" in NYC; a multicultural ensemble of seasoned professional actors, writers, directors and filmmakers driven by a commitment to artistic excellence, creative exploration, and passion for significant work; to nurture artistic growth and to develop vital new works in independent cinema, television and stage.

Attended Marymount Manhattan College in NYC on a competitive merit scholarship in acting.

Writes all music, plays guitar, and sings in his alternative rock band "Valence".

Studied under legendary actor William Hickey at H.B. Studios in Greenwich Village, New York City.

Was roommates with actor Chris Messina when they were both studying in NYC.

Was dubbed "the man of many fedoras" by "In the Gray" photographer Peter Kim. Katt is known for collecting and frequently wearing fedoras.
