Biography

Canadian-born, American bass-baritone singer of gospel music, born February 1, 1909, died April 16, 2013. A Grammy winner, Shea has recorded approximately 500 vocal solos, with orchestral accompaniment, arranged and conducted by well known musical directors, such as Hugo Winterhalter, Ralph Carmichael, Bill Walker, Nathan Scott , Charles Grean, and Radio City Music Hall Organist, Ray Bohr. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Shea holds the world record for singing in person to the most people ever, with an estimated cumulative live audience of 220 million people.
