He holds a Bachelor of Arts History Department, Ain Shams University in 1957, and also holds a Bachelor of the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1956. He joined the typical folk theater, which was affiliated to the department of the arts. Appointed as inspectors for the theater in Alexandria in 1958.He direct a number of school band concerts, universities and corporate presentations then joined the band Television, where he participated in the play . He also worked extensively in television serials for children.
His father, the veteran musician "Ismail Efendi Khalifa", and his older brother, the great musician "Ali Ismail".
The great artist died at dawn of Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the age of 80 years, after a long conflict for six months with heart disease.
