Biography

Francesco Bronzi was born in Naples on March 27 1934. He studied interior design at the university of Perugia before enrolling at the Italian National Film School where he was taught by Guido Fiorini and Virgilio Matichi. Upon graduation he worked in theatrical design and entered the world of films as assistant to the late Giorgio Giovannini on Mario Bava's horror film 'Black Sabbath' in 1963. Since then he has worked on many Italian films, being awarded the David Donatello award, the Italian equivalent to the Oscar, for Giuseppe Tornatore's ' The Star-Maker'. Since 2000 he has worked chiefly on television.
