Eugenie Besserer was born in Watertown, New York on Christmas Day of 1868. She was largely a silent film actress who made her debut in 1910's silent version of _The Wonderful Wizard of Oz . Eugenie died of natural causes on May 28, 1934 in Los Angeles, California.
According to Moving Picture World, "At one time Miss Besserer was known as the champion woman fencer of the world".
