Biography

After graduating from film school, Dorsay made her entry into narrative features through film finance and distribution where she sought and connected equity investors to independent producers. While helping producers secure financing on independent films, Her first screenplay captured the attention of the Creative Artists Agency and David Lynch who offered to executive produce the project and later became her mentor. Dorsay began directing music videos for Epic, Verve and Atlantic records. While directing commercials and short form projects, she had the privilege of working with legendary jazz musician Wayne Shorter and the seeds were planted to develop a documentary on his life and music. Dorsay wrote, produced and directed her second screenplay entitled "Sweet Underground" that premiered at the Los Angeles film festival and the Montreal World Film Festival. She is the artistic director of the organization, Working Artists Collaborative, a community for filmmakers and actors to collaborate on original scripts using improvisational methods. Dorsay has created two television series that are in development; another original screenplay that was a finalist at the Sundance Writers Lab and is the producer/director of "Zero Gravity" a documentary on the life and music of Wayne Shorter.
