Biography

Dick Crew founded Los Angles-based Dick Crew Productions in 1984 to produce Seeing Stars for the USA Network and national television syndication. He was previously National Executive Producer for the hybrid local/national television series PM Magazine and Evening Magazine, which was produced by Group W Productions. Following Seeing Stars, Crew created and was executive producer of Hollywood Insider for the USA Network. During its time, the Hollywood Insider series became the longest-running entertainment news series on national cable, running from 1985 - 1996. When USA's sister network debuted, Dick Crew created and executive produced three series: Sci-Fi Buzz . The Masters of Fantasy episode on Arthur C. Clarke received the CINE Golden Eagle Award of excellence in 1998. Dick Crew moved from producing to teaching in 2000, teaching media and business courses at City University in Seattle. He obtained his PhD in Mass Communication and Media in 2005 and became Chair of the Communications Department at Misericordia University in Pennsylvania from 2005 - 2009. Crew then taught part time in the MBA program until he retired in 2014.
