Biography

Dennis Clarke is an American actor known for playing believable, "very real" characters - especially a good friend, a teacher, or a counselor. Outside of acting, he has been a professional physical therapist who helps physically homebound people, an athletic trainer of college teams, a junior high and high school social studies teacher and basketball coach. Many people have said that Dennis is naturally funny and entertaining as an actor. Even though Dennis especially enjoys, and is very successful in, comedic roles, he is also known for playing dramatic parts, playing generally likable people who have an unusual "other side" - caring but overly zealous religious people or psychiatrists with personal issues. Among the roles he has performed on stage and screen, Dennis has played a doctor many times, a community organizer, a college professor, a nursing home administrator, a lawyer, a high school guidance counselor, and a priest three times. He once played Adam the first man and once played a fictional version of a present day President of the United States. Dennis was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. He left the Gateway City to the West to head to Los Angeles, a city known perhaps more as a haven for actors and actresses than philosophers or physical therapists. His father was a well-known local baseball and soccer coach for youth and adult teams and was the President of the St. Louis Soccer League. His mother was a full time Mom. You would have to search for a long time to find someone who didn't like her.
