Biography

David started his acting career with multi-award winning sketch trio The Penny Dreadfuls, with whom he performed in five stage shows at the Edinburgh Festival receiving over thirty five-star reviews. They found their home on BBC Radio 4, with David as main writer and performer in no less than six radio plays to date. In 2011 David performed his debut solo show Shamblehouse, a one man sketch comedy for the Edinburgh Fringe, to great critical acclaim. Television credits include Siblings, Drifters, Badults, Damned, Frankie Howerd: Rather You Than Me, It's Kevin and three series of Scottish cult hit Gary: Tank Commander. Most recently he filmed the BBC series SS-GB, alongside Sam Riley; the series is penned by Skyfall writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade and features a star-studded cast. David is also a talented improviser. Starting at Edinburgh's prestigious Stand Comedy Club in 2003, he is regularly seen on London's improv circuit. Previously he's performed with West End hit Showstopper!: The Improvised Musical, coached the team of Austentatious: an Improvised Jane Austen Novel and appeared on BBC Two's Fast and Loose.
