A rotund, jovial New Yorker, David Healy obligingly played every manner of stereotypical American in British films and on television for more than thirty years. The son of an Australian father and an American mother, he spent much of his youth in Texas. Studying at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, he majored in drama and befriended another young acting hopeful, named 'Larry Hagman' in "Guys and Dolls", performing show-stopping encores of "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat".
He was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1983 (1982 season) for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in "Guys and Dolls".
He was awarded the MBE in the 2008 Queens Birthday Honors List for his services to Football and to the community in Northern Ireland.
Davids first acting job came in 2000 when he was asked to play the nemoidian seen with Nute Gunray in Starwars Episode II Attack of the clones.
