She dubbed the childrens singing voices in The Sound of Music

In 1982, her two-year-old son had a blood transfusion during an operation. The blood was tainted with HIV and he died six months later. However, Cedars-Sinai doctors initially said he died from a genetic immune deficiency. Years later the hospital lost a lawsuit and had to send out letters to parents of children (Darleen included) admitting they may have died of AIDS.

Younger sister of Charmian Carr and Shannon Farnon.

Daughter of actress Rita Oehmen and composer Brian Farnon.
