An eye injury prevented him from becoming a professional hockey player and turned him to stunt-work and acting.
In the episode, "Stargate SG-1" {200 (#10.6)} , Dan Sheas character, "Sgt. Siler", gets shocked by an overloading Stargate, and is thrown across the room. He then grouses, "Why does this always happen to me?!?!", which is an in-joke, since Shea is a stunt double AND stunt coordinator for the show. Thus yes, it will always happen to him.
Along with Gary Jones , he is one of only two "Stargate SG-1" guest stars to appear in all ten seasons.
He made guest appearances on all three of the longest running North American science fiction series: "The X Files" , "Stargate SG-1" and "Smallville" .
