British actor
Educated at Llanelli County School and trained at RADA, receiving Northcliffe and Academy scholarships.Enjoyed a successful acting career for 54 years. He was an actor, writer and director. He was appointed Director of Productions by Cardiff City Council for the Festival of Britain in 1951 and in 1957 founded the St Davids Theatre Trust to establish a National Theatre for Wales. He enjoyed playing chess.

He was a conscientious objector during World War II.
