Chris Lomme was nearly born on stage in 1938 when her mum was playing a role in "De Lustige Weduwe". Her parents were also actors but more in the amateur environment. Her dad was an actor with the 'La Jeune garde catholique" and now 'Het licht in de ogen" a theater play in 't Arsenaal. Besides acting she is also busy with poetry and literature. Frequently she reads from works of Belgian poets or writers.
When Chris Lomme was a guest on the show, she announced that she had secretly married Nand Buyl , who had been her boyfriend for 46 years, since they met on the set of "Schipper naast Mathilde" .
De Kreuners, a Belgian band featuring Walter Grootaers made a song about her once (titled "Chris Lomme"). In the lyrics theres also a reference to her debut show, "Schipper naast Mathilde" .
