Carla Camurati was born on 14 October 1960 and worked as a biology teacher before she became an actress. Her first film was "O Olho Mágico do Amor" . Carla then decided to adapt the play for the cinema.
She claims she has always been a good student on History. To direct and write the screenplay of "Carlota Joaquina, Princeza do Brazil", she visited Portugal and researched herself details about the life of the Portuguese Royal Family pictured in her film.
