Trivia

Gravel-voiced cartoon voice actor, most frequently for Disney.

Candy Candido had a trick voice that he was able change from soprano, alto, tenor, and he even had a bass that was a few keys lower than the lowest keys on the piano.

Briefly became Bud Abbott s partner in the 1960s after the death of Lou Costello.

Back in the 1940s Candy made several appearances on the "Jimmie Jackson Show" broadcast over the Warner Brothers radio station, KFWB, as well as appearing on Jacksons long running "Memory Lane" TV show. An interesting bit of trivia is that Jimmie Jacksons lovely wife, Radio and Televisions Hollywood Hostess, Anita Coleman, was a native of Louisiana as was Candy. Whenever Candy visited the home of Jimmie and Anita she would always prepare her famous "seafood gumbo" for him which, of course, Candy loved. Towards the end of 1998 Candy and Jimmie had a nostalgic reunion, but sadly Candy passed away the following year followed by Jimmie some 17 months later.

Began as a vocalist and bassist with the big band of Ted Fio Rito.
