Bridie Carter was born on December 18th in Melbourne, Australia and is the oldest of three children - she has two younger brothers. Bridie has been nominated for the TV Week Logie Awards three times. In 2003 she was nominated for a Silver Logie For Most Popular Actress, this award is voted for by the public. In 2004 she was nominated for the Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Actress which is awarded from within the industry as well as scoring another nomination for Most Popular Actress. In early May of 2004 Bridie married Michael Wilson. Their wedding was covered by Australian magazine Woman's Day and appeared in the May 17th issue. The couple reside in Byron Bay, Sydney.
She graduated from the Australian National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1994.
A member of Actors For Refugees, a group through which she been able to publically speak out on the issue of refugees.
Patron of A Just Australia in 2003. This is a group dedicated to improving policy and practice towards asylum seekers.
Her graduating class from NIDA included her future "McLeods Daughters" co-star, Inge Hornstra , who plays "Sandra Kinsela".
She has been acting since the age of six.
