Biography

Arizona's Filmmaker of the Year, Brian Skiba is a Director and Writer of feature films for Screen and Television. His most recent movie, Running Away starring Paula Trickey, William McNamara and Holly Deveaux premiered in Spain as the highest rated afternoon TV Movie in history, with 1.25 Million viewers. Furthermore Running Away is one of the top three highest rated TV Movies on Lifetime USA for the year 2017. Brian graduated with a B.A. in English from ASU. Brian directed his first feature film right after graduation, "Blood Moon Rising", a horror/comedy. It was distributed by Entertainment One and found success in the Zombie Horror niche', so much so, that Brian was asked to direct two films back to back for a producer of "Narc". One of the films, "Dirty Little Trick", starring Dean Cain and Michael Madsen premiered domestically on Showtime, and was in high rotation for over two years. In 2012, Brian produced the Lifetime Feature Film: "Final Recourse" starring Teri Polo, Chaz Palminteri and Tia Carrere in Dallas, Texas. The same year, Brian directed a Grindhouse/Action movie, ".357" starring, Laurie Love, Fred "The Hammer" Williamson and William Katt. At the start of 2013 Brian wrote a script called, "Defending Santa" that was acquired by ION Television for their Christmas 2013 line up. He later went on to direct "Defending Santa", starring, Dean Cain, Jodie Sweetin, John Savage and Jud Tylor. The production companies, Odyssey Entertainment and The Cartel, who produced "Defending Santa", found Brian to be a visionary director who can produce quality content on a budget. So, they asked him to Direct another feature film called "Anatomy of Deception" starring, Natasha Henstridge, Lochlyn Munro and Miranda Frigon of "Primevil" that premiered on LMN October 26, 2014. Brian then wrote and was the director on the ION Channel Orignal feature film: "Merry Exmas" staring Dean Cain, Kristy Swanson, and Ernie Hudson that premiered on December 7, 2014. Since then ION Channel has asked him back for 2015 to Direct a World War II ION original feature film, "Christmas Truce". Most recently Brian has been the director of the fast paced action flick, "Chokehold" and "Rottentail", a film based the graphic novel published by Source Point Press. He's inked deals to direct more action and thrillers in the coming 2018 year. Brian's prolific editor and has supervised many feature films through color, visual effects, sound design, sound mixing, and the final delivery requirements provided by distributors. Brian understands how to put the "budget on the screen", but more importantly, he grasps the elements needed to tell a well-crafted story. His favorite quote from the highly regarded Director, Alfred Hitchcock is this, "To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script and the script."
