Biography

Brian Mcquery wrote his first feature-length screenplay shortly after graduating high school, and has been writing them ever since. He has written over three dozen original feature-length screenplays, and numerous short film scripts. In summer 2000, Brian left his job as a Director of Telemarketing, because he wanted to direct motion pictures, not telemarketing, and he threw himself into the Chicago indie film scene. In October 2002, he completed a low budget DV short, Debt, which he wrote, directed, and executive produced. Debt was Brian's first experience with professional equipment and a crew and has screened at several film festivals. Over the next two years, Brian wrote, produced and directed the DV short films: Midnight, Commitment, Snare, and Three Couples, the 16mm short film, Everybody Sins, and the 35mm short film, Promise. During this time, Brian also worked in a variety of crew positions - production assistant, craft services, script supervisor, assistant director, producer - on projects ranging from student films to major features.
