American musician born March 9, 1966 in Teaneck, New Jersey, Brendan Canty was a founding member and drummer of Fugazi and Rites of Spring, and founded Deathfix in 2009 playing guitar and vocals. He has also has been making music, producing records, and making films in Washington DC since 1980. He has produced records for people like Ted Leo, The Make-Up, and The Thermals and played drums with Bob Mould and Eddie Vedder. He's the brother of James Canty.
