British actress
Attended RADA in the 1940s, where she was a classmate of Warren Mitchell and Jimmy Perry. Cowling would later make guest appearances in sitcoms co-written by Perry: "Dads Army" , "It Aint Half Hot Mum" and "Hi-de-Hi!" . She then got a regular role in a Perry sitcom when she played Mrs. Lipton in "You Rang, MLord?" .
Retired following a stroke in 2006.
Her father worked in publishing.
Prior to acting, she worked as a secretary for a London stockbroker.
