I began reading Erick Miller's book one evening and had to force myself to put it down. It was after mid-night, and I had to be up early for a five-hour drive.
This should be required reading in all school's. As a former infantry man (65-66) in Vietnam, this is as close to how it felt and how it was.
This book is honest and painstakingly reveals the horrors encountered in the jungles of Viet Nam, as soldiers are pushed beyond human limits of endurance. It reveals the aftermath of war on the hearts and souls of so many of our soldiers.
We are all so different, and that's what makes "TOLL OF WAR" a worthwhile read! Erick's style, brutal frankness and total honesty are trait's that have been lost by much of our society, this reader included.
