Excellent review book during clerkships and for study for Step 2.
Boards and wards is a decent short concise reference when doing clinical rotations. The book can be difficult at times because it is so short Overall it's not a bad book to carry in ur whitecoat while ur medicine rotation.
My background: I am a licensed DO in CA who attended Western U. I scored well above average on my boards, and the B&W series was one of my main study guides for COMLEX I-III...
The book is small such that the author tries to cramp diagrams and tables several pages later after talking about... I get dizzy flipping the pages back and forth trying to learn what the author is trying to portray.
This book is great. it's the perfect quick review book to read right before your clerckship exams and in preparation for your step 2 exam.
I used this book a little prior to step 2's, but I put it in my regular cycle prior to step 3's, and I did really well. I probably read this book (or it's older sibling) 5 times through prior to step 3's in my downtime.
I love this book I am currently using this on rotations and this book has made a huge difference for me. It summarizes things and makes it so much easier to understand and is easy to carry.
I'm somebody who used several different sources in my review for all 3 steps. This turned out to be an excellent resource to use in conjunction with blueprints books, First Aid, and Prescription for the Boards for step 2 review.
This book packs a tremendous amount of information into a tiny package. It is great for Step 2 CK review.
I am 4 rotations into my third year of med school and this book is great. Instead of having a huge collection of small books for each rotation, this book is all you need.
I found this book to be a great quick reference. It's organized well and presents info in list/bulleted format that is easy to read.
This book provides a good succinct review of Step 1 in a compact size. Dont be expecting wonderfull detail because that is not what this is all about.
I just graduated from my PA program and I have to suggest this book for PA students for rotations, board prep and real life. It covers the basics: Surgery, Internal Med, OB/GYN, Paediatrics, Derm, Radiology, Outpatient Med & Opthomology.
This is book is a must-have for Clerkship rotations. This book is informative because it cuts out excessive discussion and cuts to the point, making it a great quick reference.
B&W is required for medical students. It offers a concise summary of disease descriptions, diagnostic tests and treatment plans.
