The book could be subtitled "Billy Goes to the Cross & Gets Laid" as it is full of descriptions of sex and revelations of a sexual nature that it's difficult to remember Billy was also busy working regularly as a singer and performing on stage during this year. It however gives an insight into a young person's experience of the Cross at a time when its bohemian character was starting to change its nature; the old guard, as in the old criminals who had been there since the 1940s were starting to give way to a younger contingent and heroin was starting to infiltrate at its fringes.
