Billy Sherrill was an American songwriter/producer/arranger. He is most famous for his association with a number of country artists, especially Tammy Wynette and Charlie Rich. Sherrill co-wrote with Wynette her most famous hit, "Stand By Your Man" and he won a Grammy Award in 1975 for Best Country Song for Rich's version of the song "A Very Special Love Song".
Took an interest in music when he was a child.
He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
He was inducted into Musicians Hall of Fame in 2008.
He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984.
