Biography

Masters of Sex ; Staged Reading, Darkroom by George Brant. Betsy studied theater and dance at Columbia College, Chicago with Sheldon Patinkin and Martin deMaat of Second City. Her early years as an actress were spent in Cleveland and Pittsburgh earning her Screen Actors Guild in a scene with Bruce Willis. Theater credits include Steppenwolf, Trap Door, The Cleveland Playhouse, Rogue Machine, Boston Court, and Ensemble Theatre. She has earned awards and nominations in acting from the Jeff and Ovation committees and the LA Drama Critics' Circle, as well as AP and Women in Journalism awards for producing and reporting for CBS and NPR affiliates.

Betsy volunteers as a Hospice companion in Los Angeles.

Betsy started her career at age 21 as a reporter/anchor for a CBS affiliate in Tuscaloosa Alabama. Working 7 days a week for two years, she earned several awards including an Associated Press, Best Feature Story, and a Women in Journalism Award. Having never formally studied journalism, she calls this her first acting job.

Betsy grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio and moved during high school to a near north suburb of Chicago.

Betsy was the plaster cast model for The Jim Henson Creature shop to build a life sized animatronic full suit saber toothed cat for the 2010 launching of Ice Age Exhibit at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Only 6 people in the world know how to operate this creature, which is featured every Saturday in shows at the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles.
