Biography

Andrew Sandler is an eclectic Director born and raised in the Los Angeles area. Beginning his film career at a very young age, Andrew was first exposed to the world of cinema on the screen, but quickly found his passion behind-the-scenes. This early immersion into the motion picture industry led Andrew to explore various opportunities behind the camera, quickly finding his niche in directing, producing, and cinematography. He credits this decision to explore behind the camera to Steven Spielberg, with whom he worked with on the film "Minority Report". After committing himself to a two-year scholarship of Film Studies in Santa Barbara, CA., Andrew went on to pursue his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film Production at the prestigious USC School of Cinematic Arts. Here, Andrew was able to write, direct, and produce several short films, and music videos, that consistently showcased and refined his developing cinematic style. While still in film school, Andrew put together a small production crew made up of fellow film school students/friends and quickly began working on various viral video campaigns for Gap, JCPenney, Fanta, and Nike to name a few. Soon after, his unique approach to narrative film-making propelled him into the music video and commercial world where he began collaborating with a multitude of established artists in the music and film industry. In 2012, he released his first feature length documentary "Nothing to Lose" which went on to win multiple awards for directing, editing, and producing throughout the festival circuit. This gained the attention of Riveting Entertainment, who signed him as a Director and Producer, going on to work with A-List talent such as Chris Brown, Nikki Minaj, Diddy, Usher, Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige, G-Eazy, and many others. In 2016 he was nominated for a VMA in the long-form category for the work he did on Chris Brown's "Royalty" music video series. Most recently, he released two feature length documentary films. The first being Mary J. Blige's "Strength of a Woman" album documentary, which premiered on VH1; and the latter Chris Brown's "Welcome To My Life" which had a worldwide theatrical debut, earning it's title as one of the most successful independent documentaries of 2017. With his meticulous attention to detail and concerted dedication to the creative process, Andrew hopes to bring a fine aesthetic back to the film medium and establish himself as a true master of his craft in all areas of film & TV production.
