Favorite comedians are Judy Gold , Jessica Kirson , Wendy Liebman , Sarah Silverman , Margaret Cho and Ellen DeGeneres. She is also a New York Mets fan.
After college, she moved to New York City to become an actress. She tended bar and waited tables while she auditioned for various roles.
Graduated from South Side High School in 1999. Received a B.A. in theatre at Towson University. Graduated from the William Esper Studio.
Second cousin, once removed, of United States Senator Chuck Schumer. Amys paternal great-great-grandparents, Abraham Schumer and Joder Ida/Edith Wizman, were also Chucks paternal great-grandparents.
Has a B.A. in Theater from Towson University and is also a graduate of William Esper s two-year Sanford Meisner Intensive program.
She is the daughter of Sandy Schumer (ne Jones) and Gordon Schumer. Her father was born to a Jewish family (from Ukraine and Poland). Her mothers ancestry includes English and German, as well as some Scottish and Welsh; Amys mother converted to Judaism. Amy went to Hebrew School and had a Bat Mitzvah ceremony.
Younger sister Kim Caramele is her road manager, comedy co-writer and associate producer. Also has a half-brother, Jason Stein, who is a jazz musician and plays bass clarinet.
(April 2015) When Amy photo-bombed Kimye at the Time 100 Gala 2015 in New York by falling face down on the red carpet in their path, she was wearing a David Meister outfit.
Claims to have kept detailed journals of every day of her life between the ages of 13 and 23, a source that provided her with much of the material used in her 2016 book "The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo".

I think of myself as a fairly attractive girl and always have, thanks to,my mom. I was brought into this world thinking I was gorgeous because,my mother was extremely devoted to this notion.
