A combat photographer in World War II, he shot newsreel footage of beachhead battles in the South Pacific, and recorded Gen. Douglas MacArthur s landing in the Philippines.
Graduated from Yale University in fine arts.
His wife, Marjorie, was a niece of Jesse L. Lasky.
