Mexican filmmaker born in Durango, Mexico. Interested in performing arts since his youth, he played with the local semi-professional theater group "Crisol". Changed his residence to Mexico City to study Journalism at the Carlos Septien Garcia Journalism School in 1972. There he won the First prize of the 25th Anniversary Cinema Contest with the short film "La chispa de la vida" .
