Big band trumpeter with Tommy Dorsey, Stan Kenton, Gene Krupa and Woody Herman in the 1940s. Also recorded with many top vocalists, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn. After moving to Los Angeles in 1957, Porcino played in the Terry Gibbs Dream Band, and during the 60s, with Buddy Rich and the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra. He formed his own band in the 1970s.
