Adriaan Swerts

Adriaan Swerts received a classical music education and studied the clarinet and the piano. Furthermore, he started to experiment with electronic instruments and taught himself various ways to create new and innovative sounds. The combination of Adriaan's classical music education, his knowledge and experience with synthesizers, sound engineering and his imaginative mind results in a hybrid musical mixture that is ideal for all kinds of cinematic genres and visual styles. He wrote his first soundtrack in 2006 for a theatre play, shortly followed by a composition for a modern ballet performance. From then onwards his main focus has been in writing scores for films In the past few years, Adriaan Swerts has scored several short films, a lot of which have won awards. In 2011 "Crayon D'Amour" by Gert Driesen won the 'Public Prize For Best Animation Film' at the Leuven International Short Film Festival and "Cockaigne" by Emilie Verhamme was nominated in the short film competition for the 'Film Festival of Cannes 2012.
