Adam Devine

Was born in Iowa but raised in Nebraska.

He graduated from Millard South High School in Omaha, Nebraska.

He attended Orange Coast College along with friend and fellow Workaholics cast member Blake Anderson.

Moved to Los Angeles to be a stand-up comedian.

DeVine and the other Workaholics co-creators (Blake Anderson, Anders Holm, and Kyle Newacheck) formed the sketch-comedy group Mail Order Comedy.

His mother is named Penny.

Has an younger sister named Brittani DeVine.

Lived in the house that Workaholics is filmed in originally with Blake Anderson and Kyle Newacheck. The house is now used for filming.

Is close friends with Pitch Perfect costars Brittany Snow and Skylar Astin.

His fathers ancestry is one half Dutch, three eighths Irish, and one eighth German.

Had a horrific accident in 1995 when he was 11. He was hit by a 42-tonne cement truck and broke all the bones in his legs. It took him 2 years before he could fully walk again.

For his role in Modern Family, Adam played a character 10 years younger than his actual age.

I sang the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium - at a baseball game -,which was crazy; there was, like, 60,000 people there, which is a huge,deal in America - singing the National Anthem.

I tried out for my basketball team every year and I never made it. You,had to buy the shoes before you knew if you were on the team because it,took a few weeks for them to ship. I bought the shoes every year, never,once made the team, had a ton of high school basketball shoes.

I did telemarketing for years, starting at the age of 16, just selling,steak knives to old people. Old people go through a weird amount of,steak knives. I also sold straight meat over the telephone.

My parents are very cool and wildly supportive - maybe almost too much.

When I was 15, I worked as a bag boy in a grocery store. I also needed,to walk old ladies to their car and put their bags in the car, and they,would give me two dollars. I felt like the richest man in the world.

[The accident] was really tough, because I had to relearn how to walk,stand up, sit up and everything. The legs were totally mangled. I think,the experience helped me realise that anything is possible.
